Opening Sequences that Create Enigma - Introduction

After looking at how character and location are presented in opening sequences, for my next piece of research, I will be looking at how different films create enigma and mystery.

Enigma is a key part of opening sequences as it draws the audience into the storyline, intriguing them by withholding information and, effectively, making them want to see what occurs next.

The opening sequences I will be analysing for enigma are Fight Club and Citizen Kane.
