Opening Sequence Analysis - Introduction

The first piece of research I am going to do is to look at five opening sequences from films belonging to different genres.

This research will help me find out if there are general conventions found in opening sequences regardless of genre, or, if these conventions change because of the genre the film belongs to.

I have chosen to look at Ferris Bueller's Day Off (teen comedy), Jurassic Park (action/adventure), 13 Going on 30 (rom-com), Jaws (thriller/horror) and Passengers (sci-fi).
