My Film Title

I have shortlisted 10 potential names for my romantic comedy/farce, along with reasons for why each title might be suitable or unsuitable.

Graduation Day
Graduating from university, which relates to the narrative as the main protagonist is in university, but also, suggesting graduating from being single. A clever pun/play on words, which includes an "event".

Sex Education
Refers to a class (which relates to the movie as the character could be studying science), but also makes reference to sex which is a common theme I found when researching romantic comedy/farce titles.

The Love Lecture
Again, refers to a class that students take at university (lecture), but this time, refers to romance more than sex, which is also quite common in the romantic comedy titles I looked at.

Lessons in Love
Refers to a class, and also tells the audience that the main protagonist is not that experienced in love, which may be the hurdle or obstacle that she has to overcome.

The Undergraduate
Tells the audience that the main protagonist is in university but also, again, not experienced in love. I like this because it plays on the title of the famous film The Graduate.

Love at Eighth Sight
This title implies that the main protagonist isn't that lucky in love - playing on the phrase "love at first sight". This will indicate her clumsiness and ditsyness when it comes to relationships.

University Challenge
Shows a possible obstacle for the main protagonist, which is common in farces and romantic comedies, and references that the action will take place largely in/on a university campus.

Imperfect Valentine
Relates to this narrative of the film, as the opening sequence starts on Valentine's Day, and the narrative shows the female protagonist's struggles with love.

Mother Knows Best
This title reflects the main protagonist's healthy relationship with her mother, which we will see in the opening sequence, but also implies that the girl's mother may be the obstacle that comes between the female and male leads' quest for love.

Finding a Man for Khloe
This title uses a common convention from rom-com titles, which is including one of the names of the main protagonists. It also implies that the female lead struggles when it comes to romance (as she cannot 'find' a man for herself).
